Der Rechner sagt " Alle Daten auf der Festplatte gehen verloren, wollen Sie fortsetzen?, was Sie mit Ja (YES) bestätigen.
Wenn Sie eine sichere Formatierung wollen, bei der alle Daten gelöscht werden, die aber auch länger dauert, so geben Sie ein: FORMAT C: /u /s
Wenn dies abgeschlossen ist, können Sie die Diskette entfernen und der Computer wird dieses Mal ohne Fehlermeldung booten. Sie haben nun zwei betriebsbereite Festplatten und es ist Zeit die erste Festplatte auszubauen. Legen Sie nun beide Festplatte (isoliert durch Pappen ) nebeneinander neben den Rechner.
Nun überlegen Sie welche Festplatte C: und welche Festplatte D: werden soll und setzen Sie die Jumper auf beiden Festplatten entsprechend (Master mit Slave und Slave.)
Wird die bisherige Festplatte zu D: so müssen Sie, nach dem nachfolgende Eintragen ins Setup, FDISK erneut aufrufen und mit Option 3 die aktive Partition neu festlegen.
Sie können nun erneut Booten und tragen beide Festplatten nun in der richtigen Reihenfolge in das SETUP ein.
Prüfen Sie mit den beiden nebeneinander liegenden, angeschlossenen Festplatte ob beide Platten richtig angesprochen werden. So vermeiden Sie bei Fehlern mehrmaliges Aus- und Einbauen.

Der Computer macht Sprünge
Ein Computer arbeitet nicht analog, sondern kann nur mit diskreten, also deutlich voneinander unterschiedenen Zuständen arbeiten. Der kleinste Unterschied, mit dem ein Computer arbeitet ist der zwischen "0" und "1". Ein Halb oder ein Drittel kennt der Rechner nicht.
Wenn der PC mit Farben arbeitet muss er diese deshalb aus der analogen Welt, die beliebig kleine Unterschiede kennt in seine diskrete Welt aus Zahlen und Bits überführen. Die Farben werden digitalisiert und im PC-üblichen Binärsystem verarbeitet. Um die analoge Welt so exakt wie möglich abzubilden, müssen Farben im PC normalerweise mit mindestens 24 Bit digitalisiert und weiterverarbeitet werden. Das reicht dem PC, um etwa 16,7 Millionen Farben zu verarbeiten - man nennt dies eine Echtfarbdarstellung. 24-Bit-Verarbeitung ist das Minimum um Farbe auf dem PC sinnvoll einzusetzen.
